The Magic is Still Alive!

It has been a minute (to coin a current term) since I last wrote and in order to catch you up on what has been going on in the life of the blog and podcast here we go. Since I last wrote we have officially launched our podcast Main Street Memories on both Spotify and Apple Podcasts. We (my daughter and I) have done three episodes and recorded a fourth. In terms of research we have also enjoyed a family trip to Walt Disney World.

For those out there who feel that the current condition of our nation due to the pandemic has taken away from the magic at WDW you'd be mistaken. Some people will argue otherwise but I am here to tell you it is different but still as magical as ever, maybe even more. Yes, there are protocols that must be taken in order for a business to ensure the safety of their cu
stomers but it doesn't diminish the experience. Mickey, Donald, Goofy and the gang are still alive and well at all four theme parks and there are plenty of opportunities to see them and photograph them throughout your stay. With the crowd restrictions (currently at 35% capacity) it allows for shorter queues and the ability to experience more within the park.

We made our deposit in early January and traveled less than a month later. For those of you who know anything about WDW trips that is truly a last minute plan and thanks to our travel concierge Nicole Couch it was doable. We quickly made our park reservations and then looked for dining opportunities. Dining was limited but had not vanished. We arrived at Disney's Old Key West with only one ADR (advanced dining reservation) for the stay but we would still experience many new to us dining experiences. I am not going into detail here but if you tune into the podcast and here our rundown of the trip you will here that both Corri and I have some new favorite restaurants.

We visited each park at least once and EPCOT and Magic Kingdom twice. We frequented Disney Springs (where I found one of my new favorite places to dine) and enjoyed every minute.

Sadly we had to leave. However, it is not without the hope to return. Disney has kept the magic alive!
